Netglade took this year’s conference by storm. Here’s what we make of Czechia’s buzziest mobile dev event.

On June 3rd, we came with our colleagues from Netglade to boost our mobile know-how at the mDevCamp 2025 conference in the Holešovice Market Hall. The eleventh edition carried the slogan “Breaking Platform Barriers: Redefine the Mobile Scene” and attracted hundreds of iOS, Android and cross-platform developers on three stages.
As a Flutter developer, I naturally sought out everything that revolved around Flutter, but I also made a resolution to venture beyond my comfort zone and attend talks outside of my tech stack. I was most drawn to talks about inclusivity, like Think Accessible, Your Future Self Will Thank You.
From my privileged perspective as a non-disabled person, I wanted to understand the pitfalls that users with disabilities face. I realised that I had blind spots in this subject and left feeling that I had moved on at least a little. The imaginary cherry on top was Jitka's talk “Accessibility in Flutter”, in which she showed how to achieve accessibility without unnecessary pain.
However, I can't leave out a secret teambuilding dimension of the whole conference. I've been working with Netglade for a relatively short time, so it's understandably important for me to spend time with colleagues outside of work and build good relationships. This was fulfilled one hundred percent. I left feeling that we’re all a little bit closer.

In a video report with my colleague Michal Vácha, attendees were discussing that low numbers of coffee pots were causing longer queues. 😄
Otherwise, I was mostly interested in Kotlin multiplatform. Since we mainly do Flutter, we don't address it as much, but I'm glad to see native developers trying to share their insights.
I also enjoyed the talk The State of Voice Interactions on Android by Elaine Dias Batista about voice recognition and about passkeys, although focused on iOS, but also interesting for Android, Flutter developers.
As well as this for frontend Passkeys: the why, the what, the how by Tim Condon.

The conference had a great informal vibe, thanks to the venue inside the Holešovice Market. As always, it was a pleasure to run into so many familiar faces in one place – from Superkoders, Ackee, Futured, Matee – and to meet others for the first time. A big thumbs from me, and I'll be looking forward to it again next year.

mDevCamp 2025 was a pleasant surprise from many perspectives and produced a strong lineup, from Livesport, to Sky and us at Netglade. I was most interested in the Disassembling Kotlin Features into Bytecode talk, which showed me that mobile development “under the hood” might not be as abstract as I originally thought. Our colleague Jitka Pfeiferova's presentation on app accessibility was also great – concrete, understandable, and practical. Overall, I came home with a lot of new information, an abundance of merch, and a full stomach. :) The event was well run, and the atmosphere was extremely pleasant. Definitely recommended!

This year's mDevCamp was carefully devised and provided enough space for planned and spontaneous community meetings. Although I spent most of my time on the showfloor, I was lucky enough to catch a few glimpses of several talks. I’d especially highlight Dominik Šimoník's (Very Good Ventures) deep dive into ScrollView and Jitka Pfeiferova’s precisely structured talk on accessibility. Both reflect the core mission of mobile conferences: Not chasing after trends, but educating on underdiscussed areas of mobile dev that seldomly receive attention.
